PZ ERS in het nieuws – Fossielvrij in 2050 kost meer dan CO2-neutraal

Moet Nederland in 2050 CO2-neutraal of helemaal fossielvrij zijn? De investeringskosten voor deze twee scenario’s liggen 28 miljard euro uit elkaar, hebben de adviesbureaus Publieke Zaken en Quo Mare berekend. Het publieke debat richt zich te veel op het halen van de klimaatdoelen van Parijs, vindt energie-econoom Hans van Cleef.

Hans van Cleef lichtte in een radio-uitzending van BNR het recent verschenen rapport van Publieke Zaken Energy Research & Strategy en Quo Mare toe. Het rapport beschrijft de verschillen tussen twee scenario’s waarbij Nederland in 2050 zijn klimaatdoelen heeft gehaald. Het ene scenario gaat uit van een CO2-neutraal energiesysteem in 2050, terwijl het andere scenario uitgaat van een fossielvrij energiesysteem in 2050.
