Publieke Zaken a public affairs consulting firm in The Hague, located across from the Binnenhof. We assist companies and organizations in developing and implementing their public affairs strategies, with a focus on sectors such as energy, climate, sustainability, agriculture, mobility, and the circular economy.

Your role

As a political analyst, you serve as the eyes and ears of our organization in the political arena of The Hague and beyond. You closely monitor political developments and translate them into incisive analyses for our clients and consultants. You ensure that organizations gain timely insight into opportunities, risks, and relevant policy developments, thereby contributing directly to their strategic positioning. In addition, you will support our consultants during advisory engagements. In this role, you will continue to develop toward a position as a Public Affairs consultant within our firm.

What will you do?

  • Monitoring, identifying, and analyzing political debates, policy developments, and current events at the local, national, and European levels;
  • Preparing clear and incisive analyses, such as parliamentary debates, policy documents, and election platforms;
  • Translating political developments into actionable insights for clients through our monitoring system, My Publieke Zaken;
  • Supporting consultants with public affairs strategies and consulting projects;
  • Contribute to research and analysis on topics such as energy, climate, and sustainability.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have completed a degree (at a university of applied sciences or a university) in a relevant field;
  • You have an affinity for politics, media and society;
  • You are interested in issues related to climate and energy;
  • You have strong communication and analytical skills;
  • You work independently and can quickly switch between different cases and assignments;
  • You work meticulously and carefully and know how to distinguish between what is essential and what is secondary;
  • You have excellent writing skills in both Dutch and English;
  • You are socially engaged, as evidenced, for example, by your experience as a board member of a student association or a social organization such as a political party, a sports club, or a charity;
  • You handle stress and pressure well and are good at working under deadlines.
