Publieke Zaken a public affairs consulting firm in The Hague, located across from the Binnenhof. We support companies and organizations in developing and implementing their public affairs strategies, with a focus on our various sectors.

Your role

As a Public Affairs Advisor, you advise clients on political and policy developments that affect their organization. You are responsible for your own clients, maintain contact with them, and contribute ideas on effective public affairs strategies. You closely monitor political developments and translate them into concrete advice and strategic insights. In doing so, you work closely with colleagues on our team and actively contribute to the further development of our services.

What will you do?

• Advising clients on political, administrative, and policy developments at the local, national, and European levels;
• Developing and implementing public affairs strategies tailored to clients' objectives and interests;
• Identifying, monitoring, and analyzing political and social developments and their impact on various sectors;
• Preparing strategic analyses, position papers, lobbying plans, analyses of letters to Parliament, and other advisory documents;
• Maintaining and further developing relationships with clients, government agencies, parliament, industry associations, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders;
• Representing and assisting clients in their dealings with politicians and government officials;
• Collaborating with colleagues on complex issues in areas such as energy, climate, mobility, the built environment, industry, agriculture, and the circular economy;
• Contribute to the further development of our services and the expansion of our customer relationships.

Who are we looking for?

• You have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., political science or international relations);
• You have approximately2 to 5 yearsofrelevant work experiencein public affairs, politics, government, consulting, or one of our practice areas;
• You have demonstrable knowledge of and an interest in one or more of the following topics: energy, electricity, climate, mobility, the built environment, industry, agriculture, or the circular economy;
• You are able to quickly grasp complex political and policy developments and translate them into clear strategic recommendations;
• You have strong communication skills and feel at home in an environment with many different stakeholders;
• You are independent, proactive, and take responsibility for your own cases and clients;
• You easily build lasting relationships and know how to reconcile different interests;
• You work with precision, are good at setting priorities, and switch effortlessly between different tasks;
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.

• A 40-hour-per-week position ;
• A 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal or a permanent position;
• A salary, depending on experience, ranging from €3,500 to €4,500 on a full-time basis, and a potential annual bonus;
