Thijn joined Publieke Zaken as an intern in September 2025. He has a bachelor's degree in history in which he specialized in Dutch political history. In addition to his internship, he is now finishing his MA International Relations: European Union Studies. This combination gives him extensive knowledge about politics at the national and European level.

For his thesis, he is diving into the influence politicians have on the perception of the EU and how politicians use that to influence policy. After being active for a period at Milieudefensie during his studies, Thijn is now looking at how he can turn these ideals into concrete actions at Publieke Zaken .
