About Marije

Marije joined Publieke Zaken in March 2025, where she bridges the Economics Research and Strategy and Regulatory Affairs teams. Marije knows how to effectively connect political, economic and legal insights. This allows her to analyze political and economic developments within a broader social context and advise on their legal implications.

She graduated magna cum laude from Leiden University College with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges, where she specialized in International Justice. She then went on to earn a master's degree in Global Crime, Justice and Security from the University of Edinburgh Law School, where she delved further into complex social issues at the intersection of law, security and international politics.

Within Public Affairs, Marije enthusiastically dedicates herself to climate and human rights. She is also a member of the Environmental Law Association and Law for Climate.
