Russian President Putin cut off the gas supply to Europe when he started the war with Ukraine. He thought this would bring Europe to its knees, but hit himself with it. Natural gas giant Gazprom, one of the sources of Putin's private wealth, has gone into the red for the first time in 24 years with a $7 billion loss. Putin is stuck and the Chinese are skillfully exploiting it. Hans van Cleef spoke with the AD.
