PZ ERS in the news - Motorists are not rid of expensive gasoline for the time being.

Gasoline prices are once again soaring at the pump. Last Friday, the average price for a liter of gasoline was 2.26 euros, and motorists are not yet rid of these high prices. Hans van Cleef spoke with the AD.

''Gasoline is backwardly expensive in the Netherlands because of high excise taxes,'' says Hans van Cleef, energy expert at consultancy Publieke Zaken. ''That's true, but that doesn't explain why prices have surged again recently. Excise taxes are a fixed amount, so they only change when the government increases or decreases them.
