Public affairs consulting, strategy and execution

The start of any successful influencing strategy is obtaining accurate information. But what do you do with this information? Our services focus on developing and structuring your advocacy. For this, we have several tools.

Our approach

Strategy and coaching

The team at Publieke Zaken has considerable brainpower and expertise. Our advisors have backgrounds in the House of Representatives and the energy sector. Would you like to take the information you receive through My Publieke Zaken a step further? Then let Publieke Zaken be your sounding board. Our advisors can support you with concrete activities like drafting petitions, but are also available to offer guidance and interpretation for the longer term.

Stakeholder management and analysis
In today's complex society, understanding the views of diverse stakeholders is indispensable for one's influencing strategy. This includes views in politics as well as those of competitors and interest groups. Thanks to the great transparency on social media, even the opinions of individuals are occasionally decisive in opinion shaping and decision making. A good stakeholder analysis provides insight into the interests, opinions and sensitivities of all stakeholders. Such an analysis is therefore an effective tool for drafting and implementing a decisive advocacy strategy.
Publieke Zaken helps you do this.

Feasibility studies and research
Prior to a public affairs project, it may be useful to first investigate the feasibility of the project. In a feasibility study, we examine the opportunities and risks. Using our extensive network, we identify the positions of the government, officials, political parties, market players and other relevant stakeholders. Who are the key players in the process (politicians, officials, opinion leaders, stakeholders, competitors?). With whom can you collaborate and how do we connect the different interests.

The outcome of the feasibility study is a go/no-go decision. Do follow-up steps make sense, and if so, how do we develop a customized lobbying strategy together?

Alliances and coalitions
Connecting starts with content: is your story right? From that content a relationship can then be built, so that you can find the right politicians and officials, and they can find you. Our years of experience and large network form a solid basis for expanding your network as an important part of public affairs. Of course, after that it is about maintaining it.

In addition, Publieke Zaken can help you test your ideas and gather support. For example, by putting together a sounding board group of experts, Publieke Zaken can help you further in the formative phase. Testing ideas at an early stage is effective for adjusting the message or deciding to shelve the idea. Or, on the contrary, to proceed with full force.

Even after that, Publieke Zaken is available to help you get the right contacts. For example, we have extensive experience in bringing coalitions together. A temporary coalition of like-minded parties shows that your message has broad support. This can help achieve results. Sometimes it requires an open mind to look for coalition partners that are not immediately obvious. A remarkable coalition gives your message extra attention value and eloquence.

Public affairs, also for startups
The energy sector spans the full breadth of the business world, from SMEs to listed multinationals.
Publieke Zaken has extensive experience in advising companies and associations that do not yet have a completely sophisticated public affairs strategy. Our goal is to help you develop this strategy. We gladly share our knowledge and experience to help start-up companies take a step forward. Publieke Zaken believes in a personal approach. For example, we will gladly take you to the House of Representatives for an afternoon and there is the possibility of customized interpretive talks. So do not hesitate to contact us when you take your first steps in The Hague.
