Publieke Zaken is a public affairs consultancy based in The Hague. We advise organizations particularly in the sustainability, climate, energy, agriculture, circular economy and mobility sectors in the development and implementation of their public affairs strategy. Analyzing Dutch and EU laws and regulations is an essential part of this.

This internship offers a great opportunity to explore whether you want to combine your law degree with political and civic ambitions.

Who are we looking for?

• A WO student (end of bachelor's/master's degree).
• You have an affinity with laws and regulations, politics and society.
• You have an interest in issues of sustainability, climate, energy, circular economy and mobility (knowledge or experience not necessarily required).
• You are communicative, analytically strong and independent.
• You have good written skills in both Dutch and English.

What will you do?

Interns join our team as soon as possible. Initially, you will mainly occupy yourself with following and analyzing (developments in) laws and regulations and their importance for our clients. You will also follow debates in order to keep up with these developments. Part of your time will be spent following decision-making in municipalities, provinces and the national parliament and reporting to our clients. In addition, there is room to observe the other (lobbying) activities of our office.

At the end of the internship, you will have a good understanding of the work of a Regulatory Affairs Advisor and have delved into one of the biggest societal challenges of our time: the energy transition.

Publieke Zaken is a rapidly growing consulting firm. Should the partnership work out well, there is the possibility of staying on for longer employment.
